Health Advisory: Tuberculosis Outbreak Response

The San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) has issued a formal health advisory following a tuberculosis (TB) outbreak at Archbishop Riordan High School. As of Wednesday, February 4, 2026, health officials have identified three active cases and over 50 cases of latent TB infection within the school community. SFDPH is conducting a large-scale contact investigation and has advised that the risk to the general public remains low. In response to the outbreak, the school has transitioned to hybrid learning through February 20, 2026. Clinicians are requested to prioritize TB blood tests for any symptomatic patients affiliated with the school through February 13.
