Public Health Commission Meeting and Budget Hearings

The San Francisco Health Commission is scheduled to hold a regular meeting today, Monday, March 2, 2026, starting at 4:00 p.m. A significant portion of the agenda is dedicated to the Department of Public Health (DPH) budget for the upcoming 2026-27 and 2027-28 fiscal years. Key discussion items include planned budget reductions for Community Based Organizations (CBOs), affecting several local agencies such as the Felton Institute, HealthRight360, and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. Members of the public wishing to provide remote testimony must submit their requests to Commission staff by the noon deadline today.

Current Health Advisories and Alerts

The San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) has issued several active advisories that remain in effect for the city:

  • Measles Outbreak Response: Health officials are monitoring an increase in measles cases across California. Residents are encouraged to verify their immunization status and consult healthcare providers for vaccinations.
  • Tuberculosis Monitoring: SFDPH continues to provide updates regarding a localized tuberculosis (TB) outbreak at a local high school. Clinical evaluation and reporting protocols remain active for those identified as close contacts.

Public Works and Park Maintenance

Infrastructure improvements are underway at several locations. San Francisco Public Works has deployed crews along Powell Street from Francisco to Filbert for concrete and sewer utility upgrades. This block-by-block work is expected to continue through the end of the month. Additionally, the Recreation and Park Department has confirmed that the Illuminate LIVE free concert series is now active at the Golden Gate Bandshell, following its season opening on March 1. Maintenance work also continues at the Louis Sutter Upper Playground in McLaren Park and at various neighborhood playgrounds undergoing resurfacing to ensure ADA compliance.
