Official City Notice: Transit and Infrastructure

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) and San Francisco Public Works have issued significant traffic advisories for Saturday, February 7, 2026, due to the final day of the Super Bowl Experience at the Moscone Center. Residents and visitors should prepare for heavy congestion and follow these directives:

  • Major Road Closures: Howard Street remains closed between 3rd and 4th Streets. Significant rolling closures and traffic detours are in effect on Mission, Folsom, and 4th Streets. All SoMa district closures are expected to remain until February 10.
  • Muni Service Adjustments: Extra subway service is currently active. The K Ingleside and M Ocean View lines are operating with 2-car trains to manage event crowds. The Central Subway will close at 12:30 a.m. tonight.
  • Parking Enforcement: Special event parking restrictions are being strictly enforced. Vehicles parked within 100 feet of temporary event signage are subject to immediate towing.

Public Health Advisories

The San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) has updated its active advisories regarding local outbreaks and seasonal safety concerns:

  • Tuberculosis Outbreak: An active health advisory remains in place for the Archbishop Riordan High School community. Mandatory clinical evaluations and TB testing for all exposed students and staff must be completed by February 13, 2026. While the general risk to the public is low, healthcare providers are reminded to report all suspected cases immediately.
  • Wild Mushroom Foraging Warning: Following a series of fatalities across California, health officials are urging residents to avoid foraging for wild mushrooms. Proliferating "death cap" varieties are currently in a "super bloom" phase in city parks and under oak trees. Foragers are warned that toxicity cannot be determined by color or cooking.

Administrative and Legal Notices

City departments have issued the following updates regarding municipal services and financial deadlines:

  • Business Tax Filings: The Office of the Treasurer & Tax Collector reminds all businesses that the unified Annual Business Registration and Tax Form must be submitted by March 2, 2026. This deadline includes the filing of Gross Receipts and Homelessness Gross Receipts taxes.
  • Digital Permitting Transition: Starting February 13, the Department of Building Inspection will transition to a fully digital permitting system for doors, windows, and siding. Due to staff training for this rollout, the Permit Center is currently operating at 50% capacity.
  • SFUSD Bargaining: A public notice has been issued for a labor bargaining session between the San Francisco Unified School District and United Educators of San Francisco, scheduled for today, February 7, at 2:00 p.m.
