Public Notice: Chase Center Traffic Advisory and City Service Updates

Official City Roundup for Sunday, February 22, 2026
The City and County of San Francisco is issuing the following public service announcements and official notices regarding transit, infrastructure, and public health. Residents and visitors are advised to review these updates to ensure minimal disruption to their weekend activities.
Chase Center Event Traffic and Parking Rates
The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) has issued a traffic advisory for the Mission Bay neighborhood. The Golden Gate Warriors will host the Denver Nuggets today, Sunday, February 22. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. with the game beginning at 12:30 p.m. To manage the high volume of attendees, the following measures are in effect:
- Special Event Parking: A special event rate of $12 per hour is active at parking meters within the immediate vicinity of the arena to discourage neighborhood congestion.
- Supplemental Transit: The 78X Arena Express shuttle will operate between the 16th Street BART Station and Chase Center, starting two and a half hours before tip-off and continuing until one hour after the game concludes.
Major Regional Transit and Road Closures
Caltrans and the SFMTA remind motorists of ongoing infrastructure work affecting regional travel. The Eastbound I-80 off-ramp at 4th Street remains closed as part of the Central and Bayshore Viaduct rehabilitation project. This closure began Friday evening and is scheduled to remain in effect until the early morning hours of Monday, February 23. Motorists are encouraged to use alternative exits and follow posted detours.
Muni Service Modifications
Significant changes to Muni routes remain in effect following the permanent closure of the Potrero Yard on February 14. These changes are part of the Potrero Yard Modernization Project. Key updates active today include:
- 5 Fulton/5R Fulton Rapid: Weekend frequency has been increased to every 7 minutes to accommodate passenger demand following fleet adjustments.
- 58 Lake Merced: Bus stops at Lake Merced Boulevard and Lake Merced Hills Boulevard have been relocated from the sidewalk to new boarding islands in the street to improve safety and accessibility.
- 48 Quintara-24th Street: Outbound routes have been adjusted to travel via Claremont Boulevard to avoid congestion near West Portal.
Department of Public Health Advisories
The San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) continues to monitor a tuberculosis (TB) outbreak at Archbishop Riordan High School. As of late this week, health officials confirmed 204 latent TB cases within the school community. The SFDPH emphasizes that latent TB is not contagious and that the risk to the general public remains low. Health officials continue to provide testing and treatment guidance to those affected.
Additionally, the San Francisco Health Service System reminds residents that February is Heart Health Month. City employees and residents are encouraged to prioritize preventive care, including routine screenings and cardiovascular health assessments.
Park Maintenance and Improvements
San Francisco Recreation and Parks reports ongoing construction work at various sites. Pedestrians in Golden Gate Park should be aware of road work along the JFK Promenade and Conservatory Drive East. Meanwhile, the Tenderloin Recreation Center play area remains under renovation as part of the 2026 capital improvement plan.
