Public Notice: City Committee Updates, Transit Resumptions, and Health Advisories

City Committee and Legislative Meetings
The San Francisco Board of Supervisors and its various committees have updated their schedule for Monday, March 9, 2026. Residents should note that the Rules Committee meeting originally scheduled for 10:00 a.m. has been cancelled. However, several other legislative bodies will convene at City Hall:
- Land Use and Transportation Committee: Meeting at 1:30 p.m. in Room 250.
- Assessment Appeals Board No. 2: Meeting at 9:30 a.m. in Room 405.
- Assessment Appeals Board No. 3: Meeting at 1:30 p.m. in Room 405.
- Youth Commission Committees: Both the Housing, Recreation, and Transit Committee and the Civic Engagement and Education Committee will meet at 5:00 p.m. in Rooms 270 and 278, respectively.
Transit Advisories and Service Resumptions
Following the conclusion of the Lunar New Year parade festivities and the removal of temporary event infrastructure, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) has announced the following service updates for Monday, March 9:
- Muni Route 8 Bayshore: Inbound service to the Kearny and Jackson streets bus stop has resumed as of the start of morning service. The stop was previously closed for grandstand construction and parade routing.
- Howard Streetscape Project: Ongoing safety upgrades and protected bicycle lane construction continue on Howard Street between The Embarcadero and 4th Street. Commuters should expect intermittent lane closures and delays between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
- South San Francisco Ferry: A new service schedule for the South San Francisco ferry route officially goes into effect today, Monday, March 9. Riders are encouraged to review the updated departure times.
Public Health Advisories
The San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) maintains several active advisories as of March 9, 2026:
- Wild Mushroom Warning: Residents are urged to avoid picking or consuming wild mushrooms following an increase in severe mushroom poisoning cases across the Bay Area. Recent weather conditions have led to a surge in toxic species.
- Tuberculosis Monitoring: SFDPH continues to provide updates and clinical evaluation guidance regarding the tuberculosis investigation at Archbishop Riordan High School. While the risk to the general public remains low, close contacts continue to be monitored.

San Francisco Recreation and Parks has several active community notices for Monday:
- Monday Sketching Lessons: Free sketching lessons will be held at Union Square Plaza today from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. as part of the city's seasonal programming.
- Camp Mather Summer 2026: The application deadline for seasonal employment at Camp Mather is Tuesday, March 10. Interested applicants must submit their forms and supplemental questionnaires by 5:00 p.m. tomorrow.
