Legislative Session: Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors will hold its weekly meeting today, Tuesday, February 10, at 2:00 p.m. in the Legislative Chamber at City Hall. The agenda features several high-profile items, including the final vote on a proposed $40 million tax abatement package for a private luxury hotel development. Additionally, the Board will consider an ordinance amending the Administrative Code to clarify restrictions on the unauthorized use of City property. Public hearings are scheduled for development appeals at 524-526 Vallejo Street and 350 Amber Drive, as well as a long-standing appeal regarding a telecommunications facility in Diamond Heights. Residents may attend in person or view the proceedings live on SFGovTV.

Public Health Advisory: Archbishop Riordan High School TB Outbreak

The San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) continues to manage an active tuberculosis (TB) outbreak associated with Archbishop Riordan High School. While officials stress that the risk to the general public remains low, a mandatory evaluation order is in effect for all students and staff. As of February 10, health officials have identified three active cases of TB disease and over 50 cases of latent infection. All affiliated individuals are required to complete TB screening—including blood tests and chest X-rays where indicated—and submit documentation by February 13. The SFDPH TB Clinic at Ward 94 of San Francisco General Hospital is providing assistance for those requiring clinical clearance.

SFUSD Service Notice: District-Wide Student Holiday and Resources

All San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) campuses are closed to students today, Tuesday, February 10, amidst ongoing labor negotiations. District offices, including the headquarters at 555 Franklin Street, are also closed to the public. To support families during this closure, the Department of Children, Youth, and Their Families (DCYF) is operating 42 food distribution sites across the city, offering breakfast and lunch to children 18 and under. San Francisco Public Library branches remain open during regular hours to provide students with space for independent study and free printing services for instructional packets. Families are encouraged to check the official district website for updates regarding tomorrow's schedule.

Transit and Traffic Advisory: Super Bowl Cleanup and BART Closures

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) reports that most major street closures related to last week’s Super Bowl Experience, including sections of Howard, Mission, and 4th streets, were scheduled to reopen as of 6:00 a.m. this morning. Drivers should still exercise caution in the SoMa district as crews remove temporary infrastructure and signage. Separately, BART has announced that a soil testing project at the West Oakland Station—a major hub for transbay commuters—will result in the temporary closure of approximately 60 parking spaces starting today. These closures are expected to persist through February 17 and are a necessary precursor to upcoming transit-oriented development construction. Commuters are advised to arrive early or utilize alternative stations during this period.
