Oakland officers joined pursuit; arrest followed on foot

After the officer was struck, Oakland police officers became involved as the suspect continued to flee, according to law enforcement statements. The chase did not end solely in a vehicle stop: police said the suspect ultimately got out of the vehicle and attempted to carjack another driver.
