Super Bowl LX Experience Opens at Moscone Center, Bringing NFL Fan Events and Major Downtown Traffic Impacts

Seven-day Super Bowl week footprint expands beyond Santa Clara with a large public fan festival in San Francisco
The NFL’s official Super Bowl LX fan festival, billed as the Super Bowl Experience, is scheduled to operate at San Francisco’s Moscone Center from Tuesday, February 3 through Saturday, February 7, 2026, with the venue closed on game day, Sunday, February 8. The event uses Moscone’s North and South buildings and runs 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday.
Ticketing is set as day-specific general admission, with pricing rising as the week progresses. Adult tickets are listed at $40 from Tuesday through Thursday, $50 on Friday, and $60 on Saturday. Children 12 and under are admitted free. The NFL has also advertised higher-priced options labeled “SBxtra,” depending on the day.
What fans can expect inside the Moscone Center
The Super Bowl Experience functions as a large-scale, indoor fan zone with interactive football-themed activities. Programming is advertised to include skill challenges and games, opportunities for photos with football-themed displays and memorabilia, and scheduled appearances by current and former NFL figures. The format is designed for high throughput, with timed entry supported by ticket scanning.
Security screening will follow an NFL clear-bag policy used across league venues. The policy permits clear bags up to 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches, a one-gallon clear plastic bag, and a small non-clear clutch up to 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches. Larger non-clear bags and several other item categories are listed as prohibited, with medical exceptions subject to inspection.

Transit, street closures and downtown access during Super Bowl week
Transportation impacts extend beyond the Moscone campus. The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency has advised that street closures and traffic detours will affect parts of SoMa and the Union Square area, with rolling restrictions expected on major streets, including Howard, Mission and 4th. The agency has cautioned residents and visitors to expect congestion and transit delays and to allow extra travel time during the broader Super Bowl week window.
Parking availability is also expected to shift. The SFMTA has indicated that the Fifth & Mission / Yerba Buena Garage will be closed to the public for part of the week, while other nearby public garages, including the Moscone Center Garage, are expected to remain open.
Heightened security presence, with immigration enforcement separated from event operations
City and federal officials have outlined a security posture that increases law-enforcement visibility near major venues tied to Super Bowl week events, including areas around Moscone Center. At the same time, officials have publicly emphasized that immigration enforcement operations are not part of Super Bowl security planning, framing the federal role as focused on public safety coordination for a high-attendance international event.
Super Bowl LX itself is scheduled for Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, while the Moscone Center hosts major official fan programming in the days leading up to kickoff.
For downtown businesses and residents, the Super Bowl Experience concentrates large crowds into a dense transit and hotel corridor, pairing a marquee tourism draw with short-term transportation constraints that are expected to peak as the weekend approaches.
